Matthew has been a long-standing Trustee with Palmerston North Māori Reserve
Trust and Wellington Tenths Trust since 1988. Matthew’s focus in both Trusts has been to grow the assets for the shareholders (by making considered and risk averse decisions), and to continue to support the owners and their whānau. Both Trusts have continued to develop strategic whenua areas and this has resulted in strong financial asset returns for the owners.

Matthew’s background in the building industry includes as a building  contractor in the Whangamata/Coromandel region, Building Project Management in Sydney/Canberra/Auckland, Building Inspector at Taupo District Council and Training Advisor with the Building Construction Industry Training Organisation (BCITO) in the Central North Island. Matthew continues to support well researched property development opportunities as a way to grow the asset base of both Trusts.

Matthew is blessed with a daughter Trudy and son Darren, with Adrienne (D.1989), and blessed again with two more sons (Joshua and Louie) with his wife, Joanne. Matthew and Joanne have three mokopuna (Noah, Jessie, and Meela).
